   Grading runs with black diamonds is a North American thing. In Europe and the rest of the World, runs for advanced skiers are graded red and those for experts graded black. Italy isn’t famed for difficult marked runs but if you are happiest on off-piste steep and deep (”backcountry”) you will find Alagna and the Monte Rosa region right up there with any ski area in the world.
