ski resort
conair26 asked:

My friend and I are thinking of going to A ski resort this winter to snow board for the first time. Do you know anywhere that would be good and not too expensive? And how much you think it costs on average?

a ski lift ticket will go from $45 to $70 and resort room could start at $90 a night or more, in california i like a place called alpine meadows, no ones there, its easy and good for beginners. The most popular and best resort is sierra at tahoe its huge, fun, and youre guaranteed a good time

be prepared to spend at least 250 per day per person. Look for the package deals most the resorts offer. If you want cheaper deals look into off season rates. The snow might not be as good but if its you first time that shouldn’t matter.

I guess my first question is where do you live and how far are you willing to travel and for how many days? For your first time you want to make sure you find a place that has a really good beginners area. If you are near WV then I would suggest Snowshoe Mtn, If near NY, PN then go with Blue Knob or 7 Springs. Out west in CO go to Copper (not Breakenridge or Veil - good places but way expensive) and Solitude in UT. To find the best deals go through a travel agency if you are going to travel there and get a deal with air fare and tickets combined. If local call your resort and ask for best deals (check them out online too, they don’t always tell you the best best deals). If the package deals are a lot then find a local hotel that might have packages also w/ or w/out tickets. Make sure to get a hotel with a kitchen to save on all the killer restaurant prices. Also remember that it will be a VERY good idea to take at least one beginner lesson if you don’t want to have too many buises to go out on the 2nd day. I’ll check back here again soon and see if you added any more questions.

OH btw - Do not go anywhere near Christmas to New Years, all the prices will be much higher. You will also find much better prices if you go during the week instead of the weekend (except Presidents Day and St. Patrick’s Day). And the absolute best deals can usually be found the week after Spring Break when spring specials start.
